Knots Rugs
The collection with Knots features three artworks.
Wildflower is a collection of snapdragons, sweet peas, nigella, cornflowers, delphiniums and cosmos grown within a wall garden. Pressed and printed they translate the delicate paper like ephemeral quality.
‘Carnelians and Lupin seeds’ takes inspiration from Sarah Howes poem ‘Mother’s Jewellery box’. Having spent my childhood in Hydra, Greece as well as Germany and Cyprus, the connection I felt with these poems of dispersal resonated and the colours from childhood memories combined with these English wild flower drawings created for me a keepsake of these different worlds.
Sweet pea similarly is created using a press and print method which gently grows up the page. Using print with these snapshots of the plant up close to create a whole image creates a sense of movement.
